CALIFORNIA, Pa. – Indiana (Pa.) edged West Chester, 3-1, on the first day of the PSAC West crossover tournament being hosted by California (Pa.) Friday evening.
West Chester (23-7) pushed IUP (12-18) into extra play in two of the four matches, but could not finish off its opportunities as the Crimson Hawks ran away with the victory by scores of 30-23, 31-29, 22-30, 31-29 at Cal.
Kristen Decker (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) posted her second straight triple double as the Golden Rams continue to play without starting setter Lisa Yeasted (West Lawn, Pa./Holy Name). Decker registered 12 kills, 16 digs and 21 assists. Michelle Powers (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) equaled Decker’s 12 kills.
Jacqueline Vivanco (Folsam, Pa./Ridley) led the Rams with 30 digs. Ashley Zech (York, Pa./West York) posted 15 digs, and Ashley Focht (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs to go along with four aces.
Kyra Yost (Boyertown, Pa./Brandywine Heights) registered 20 assists.
West Chester will take on Cal and Slippery Rock Saturday on the final day of the PSAC West crossover.
